Yes, Celtic Jewelry is beautifully designed ... but also has a purpose.
Jewelry has existed since prehistoric times, probably originating as a method to determine
clothes together (like a skirt Celtic brooch, brooch or buckle) and as a way to store and later display wealth. Although some jewelry still has functional purposes, it is more often
used in order to improve the appearance of a person.
But in addition of personal adornment, certain types of jewelry are able to convey a particular symbolic meaning, about people who wear them.
For example, using a piece of Celtic jewelry is almost always intended to indicate that
the person carrying it traces its ancestry to the Celts.
Celtic Jewelry is often used to indicate that a person is proud to be a Celtic. The design
of Celtic jewelry is often complex and almost always immersed in the past.
The use of these beautiful pieces of jewelry is an effective but easy for the people means
the importance to them of their Celtic heritage and culture, while at the same time allowing
those people to carry out and continue the Celtic tradition. The Celtic cross, which incorporates
both Christians and design elements ancient Celtic pagan is a popular example.
Types of Celtic jewelry.
Celtic jewelry can be made out of almost anything, including metal precious as gold,
sterling silver and platinum. Precious and semi-precious stones such as diamonds,
emeralds, sapphires, rubies, and topaz, can be incorporated into almost any design.
Celtic jewelry can also make minor metals such as silver, Vermeil, brass
or tin, which are sometimes set with synthetic gems such as cubic zirconium.
Since ancient times, Celtic jewelry has been famous for its beauty and fine craftsmanship. Many different types of Celtic jewelry incorporating "Celtic knots," the beauty, the stylized representations of endless knots that were used by the ancient Celts to symbolize their pagan
religious beliefs.
A Celtic cross inlaid with diamonds, is a particularly striking piece. But many other popular Celtic design elements, such as the Tree of Life, the knot of the Trinity, Dragon (especially the dragons of Wales) and Claddagh design can be incorporate Celtic jewelry.
Brooches, pins and brooches, buckles, rings, bracelets, necklaces, hairpins and, above all,
torques, are classic, ofCeltic traditional jewelry. Other types of jewelry including Celtic tie
TAC and tie pins, medallions, cufflinks, earrings and even watches. Many Celtic pieces
the jewels are made by talented artisans, and almost all display fine craftsmanship and
intricate detail.
Back the true purpose of Celtic jewelry.
People who are able to trace their ancestry to one of the six "Celtic Nations - Ireland
Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, the Isle of Man and Brittany - are proud and honored
heritage, which can be powered by the use of Celtic jewelry. Much of popuations
Ireland and Britain, along with their relatives living elsewhere, are of Celtic
ancestry. And nearly all Celts celebrate and Celtic traditions and honor the Celtic heritage.

Russian Jewelry - Exotic And Unique
Russian jewelry has had a checkered history. The history goes back to more than 1000 years. The beauty of Russian jewelry was actually introduced formally during the reign of Peter the Great in 1719. He created what is known as the State Diamond Fund. He decreed that state jewelry was sacrosanct. The Romanov family could add to the Russian jewelry but could not use it for personal gains. Thereafter true to his declaration he and all the imperial heads of the Russian monarchy kept adding to the state jewelry. The pieces were stored by Peter the Great in the Winter Palace of St Petersburg. Thereafter Elizabeth I, her nephew Peter III and his wife Catherine the Great all contributed liberally to the state jewelry that grew progressively. Russian jewelry survived WWI, the revolution of 1917, Russian Civil War and WWII. Despite the loss of a large proportion of the famous jewelry collection the more important pieces still live on and are available for public viewing.
The famous Russian responsible for popularizing Russian jewelry other than Peter the Great was Peter Charles Faberge whose family went on to create the House of Faberge which brought the famous Faberge eggs to the world stage. These eggs of gold and silver encrusted with precious and semi-precious gems were commissioned for the imperial family by Alexander III the then Czar of Imperial Russia. These days you don’t have to visit Russia merely to see its jewelry. Online shops now produce excellent reproductions from the periods of Catherine the Great, the Tsars and from the Faberge House in necklaces, earrings and pendants. You can go through the online catalogue and order a Catherine the Great necklace in sterling silver or antique pendants like the Monomakh cross pendant with pearls in sterling silver dated back to the 13th/14th century. A similar pendant had been used in the coronation ceremony of Peter the Great. There are more antique pendants using the Faberge eggs like the beautiful Imperial Red Star Pendant, the Imperial Blue Green Egg Pendant and the Imperial Argyle Egg Pendant all from the House of Faberge.
